Steven Winter Associates' offices located in Norwalk, CT, New York City, Boston, MA and Washington, DC are staffed by architects, planners, engineers, builders, building and computer scientists, and educators who undertake design, research, material/systems testing, accessibility compliance, and other technical assignments for a wide variety of public and private clients. We apply innovative construction technologies that incorporate energy conservation; accessibility; hazards research; universal design and sustainability in buildings.

We encourage extensive cross-disciplinary training of our professionals which allows SWA to design and evaluate projects using an integrated and “whole building” approach. As a result, SWA’s projects exhibit distinctive yet cost-effective design, high energy savings, superior building performance, increased occupant comfort, and reduced negative environmental impact.

In addition to our design and research activities, SWA conducts workshops for architects, builders, and contractors on topics such as “sustainable design”, advanced building systems and equipment, value engineering, accessibility, and efficient construction practices aimed at improved building performance and resource efficiency.
