Home Energy Solutions

Steven Winter Associates, Inc. (SWA) provides home energy assessments and the installation of energy efficiency measures for Connecticut homeowners through the Home Energy Solutions (HES) program. This program, sponsored by the Connecticut Energy Efficiency Fund, is offered at low or no cost to customers of Connecticut Light and Power (CL&P) and the United Illuminating Company (UI) - Some municipal electric customers may be eligible for this program. Contact your electric company or inquire to SWA directly to determine if you live in a participating territory. Funding for this program is provided by CL&P, UI, Connecticut Natural Gas, Southern Connecticut Gas, and Yankee Gas.

Connecticut homeowners with electric or natural gas heat are eligible for HES services at no cost. Homeowners who do not have electric or natural gas heat are required to pay a $300 co-pay to share the cost of the home assessment with the sponsoring electric company.

Services Provided
All homes are assessed to determine which energy-saving measures are appropriate for the individual home. Energy assessments include a visual inspection and diagnostic testing to determine existing conditions in the home and to evaluate potential improvements.

Qualifying homes will receive the following services through the program:

HES technicians will review all of their findings and results with the homeowner and all participating homeowners will receive an HES “toolkit” including a summary of results for their own home and information on additional incentive programs available through their electric utility for increased energy savings.

Appointments are typically scheduled for ½ day or full day visits, depending on the size and complexity of the home. To make an inquiry or schedule an appointment, fill in this form and fax to 203-852-0741 or contact Fran Payne at SWA: 1-877-792-1972 or ductseal@swinter.com
