Improving the Built Environment through Research, Design, and Technology

Green Affordable Multifamily Housing

SWA has been involved in affordable housing for over 35 years, and we are pleased to be working with clients with a vision for sustainable building practices for a market that is important to the viability of our communities.

SWA works closely with affordable housing developers to identify the most cost effective, energy efficient and sustainable design and operations strategies to provide healthy and durable housing; to meet rating system benchmarks and local green guidelines; and to gain financial incentives and rebates for sustainable design and maintenance practices.

SWA also works to promote sustainable, affordable housing through direct project consulting, training and lectures, and program development nationally for organizations such as the U.S. Green Building Council and Enterprise Community Partners, and in New York with NYSERDA, the NYC Department of Housing and Urban Renewal, and NYSAFAH.
