Modera Port Royale

Fort Lauderdale, FL

Boosting accessibility along Florida’s coastline

Modera Port Royale

Project Overview

Modera Port Royale stands as a beacon for wellness in the Fort Lauderdale community, and as a paragon of accessible design.

The building aims to appeal to a community focused on health and wellness and a connection to one’s natural environment. It boasts a private marina with three accessible boat slips and a fully accessible yacht club; a green roof; and a graded beach-entry pool built within the principles of Universal Design. In addition, several accessible fitness rooms are included within the space.

SWA provided plan reviews and field inspections to ensure compliance with the accessible design and construction requirements of the Fair Housing Act and the Florida state building code. The team also helped the development’s public space adhere to the accessibility requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
