Steven Winter Associates, Inc. Announces New CEO
December 16, 2021 | Norwalk, CT – Steven Winter Associates, Inc. (SWA)’s Board of Directors has appointed Srikanth Puttagunta as the company’s new Chief Executive Officer after Marc Zuluaga stepped down from the role last month. Zuluaga is shifting his focus to lead a new venture, which was incubated at SWA over the past two years. Puttagunta has worked at SWA for over 18 years and served as Chief Operating Officer from 2019 until his current appointment became effective.
During his tenure as COO, Puttagunta steered SWA through the uncertainty of the COVID global pandemic, helping to ensure job security for all staff and financial security for the firm. Over the past two years, he also spearheaded the company’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiative alongside Zuluaga to foster an informed and evolving company culture. Puttagunta will continue to make strides in SWA’s DEI initiatives and expand benefits for SWA employees.
Prior to becoming COO, Puttagunta was a Principal Mechanical Engineer and managed a team of experts for the U.S. Department of Energy’s Building America residential research program. His innovative work led to nationwide advancements in energy-efficient residential design and construction.
Puttagunta steps into his new role as demand for SWA’s services is at its highest. His goal as CEO is to strengthen SWA’s core business of providing consulting services to improve the energy/carbon efficiency, sustainability, accessibility, health, and equity of the built environment.
“As CEO of SWA, my role is to remove barriers and increase opportunities for our team members,” Puttagunta stated. “SWA’s legacy has been built through the nurturing of talented individuals and innovative ideas. We will continue to lean into our history of research that guides our consulting and policy work.”
2022 will mark a major milestone for SWA as the company celebrates its 50th year in business. The firm has thrived by continually innovating, fostering an environment of learning, and prioritizing industry leadership. These core practices will propel SWA forward for this next year as it grows its staff to meet the rising demand for services—as well as for the next 50 years and beyond.
