Modera Port Royale – Boosting Accessibility Along Florida’s Coastline
Project Background
The Modera Port Royale Luxury apartments are the newest addition to Fort Lauderdale’s dynamic coastline.
The building aims to appeal to a community focused on health and wellness and a connection to one’s natural environment. It boasts a private marina with three accessible boat slips and a fully-accessible yacht club; a green roof; and a graded beach-entry pool built within the principles of Universal Design. In addition, several accessible fitness rooms are included within the space.
Project Services
Steven Winter Associates provided accessibility consulting on the project. The team provided plan reviews and field inspections to ensure compliance with the accessible design and construction requirements of the Fair Housing Act and the Florida state building code. The team also helped the development’s public space adhere to the accessibility requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Modera Port Royale stands as a beacon for wellness in the Fort Lauderdale community, and as a paragon of accessible design.
