The Boro – Tysons Corner
Project Background:
The Boro is a blossoming development offering a wide range of retail services and luxury residential space to Virginia’s Tysons Corner.
In an area formerly consisting of underutilized landscape, the Boro aims to carve the site into a more integrated urban center where people can live, work, shop, and play. Ultimately, the project aims to attract more residents, jobs, and businesses to mark Tysons Corner as a burgeoning DC suburb.
As the DC suburbs in Northern Virginia continue to develop identities independent of the nation’s Capitol, The Boro will emerge as an enticing hub for residents and businesses alike.
Project Services:
Steven Winter Associates, Inc. (SWA) provided accessibility consulting services for Block A of the development, which houses the DC area’s largest Whole Foods Market, as well as more than 700 multifamily units.
SWA conducted plan review, field inspections, and on site construction services to ensure the project meets compliance with the design and construction requirements of the Fair Housing Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and state and local accessibility laws and codes. With SWA’s guidance, The Boro is a more accessible and usable space for all.
